John and I had a great Valentine's Day. He gave me some beautiful pink roses. They are dying today though, and that makes me sad. I got him a photo book. What I mean by photo book is on kodakgallery you can choose the pictures and write captions for them and they will put them in an actual book like a scrapbooked page. I made the book with pictures of us from our last 3.5 years of marriage. It was SO cool and John LOVED it. Then we went out to dinner at this place named Feast. It is in our neighborhood and I have heard great things.
Like I said before we had a GREAT Valentine's Day, but the day after was AWFUL!! That is because I got food poisoning!!! I have never had it before and plan on never having it again!! I was MISERABLE for days. Thankfully my company allows me to work from home, which I did for the majority of the week. I ate my first meal on Thursday night and I seem to have made a good recovery.
Anyway, the food at Feast was great, but I don't recommend going b/c the aftertaste is not so good!!

The nicest day yet
We had a break from the cold. It was 50 degree yesterday. As you can see in my pictures that most of the snow melted. It isn't going to last for long, but John and I made sure to take advantage of it. John hadn't been to Millennium Park or to see "The Bean" so I took him. We had a wonderful day. We just walked around soaking up the sun. It was great! I can't wait for summer!
Also, there is an outdoor ice skating rink at Millennium Park. It was too crowded for us to skate (since we are SO bad), but I hope to go back and do it sometime.
Luke Bryan and Wade Bowen
John and I went to see Wade Bowen open up for Luke Bryan last Friday. We didn't know many of Luke Bryan's songs, but the concert was SOLD OUT. In Chicago that NEVER happens. We even went to see Craig Morgan last summer and it didn't sell out.
Anyway this is at our TINY neighborhood country bar. It was SO crowded! You couldn't even go to the bathroom without pushing everyone out of the way. Half way through I got a little anxiety attack where I got light headed because there was so many people around. All in all it was a great concert.
The best thing about concerts at Joe's Bar is that the singers always interact with the audience. There was a really tall guy there with a white board. As you see above Wade Bowen got it and wrote on it. Luke Bryan did the same thing.
At the end Luke Bryan's half of the show he told us we were going to tape a music video! We were like WHAT??? It is a song that hasn't come out yet. The name of it is "It's time to take my drunk ass home"!! He taught us the chorus and then we sang it 3 times just to make sure we got enough footage for the music video. At one point I'm singing along and John picks me up and moves me to the right. I whip around to find out what is going on and there is a camera standing right next to me. I can tell you one thing, my ARM will definetly be in that music video. I was waving it right in front of the camera. So anyone who has CMT needs to look for that music video and let us know (since we don't have cable). So we happened to be at the right place at the right time for once!!

Pecan Pie
Two nights ago we were talking to Erin and Ross on the computer using a web cam. Erin had just made a home-made pecan pie!! It made me want one too, and not just any pecan pie will do! I want one from my Aunt Carol! She makes the best pecan pie ever. She made two over Xmas especially for me. In my Thanksgiving blog I mentioned we didn't get any for Thanksgiving so she made some for me at Christmas. MMMMMMMMMMMM was it good! Thanks Aunt Carol!

Wicked
This was the last weekend for Wicked in Chicago. John and I have already seen it twice and love it!! There is a drawing two hours before every show for front row seats. You enter and if they draw your name you get front row seats for $25 each (originally over $200 each). I have entered three times and we finally won yesterday. We got to go to the 2 pm showing on Saturday and it was awesome!!! Front row... We could see their makeup, their tears, their costumes...OMG it was so awesome! John loved it too. I'm starting to make him cultured! If Wicked is coming to where anyone lives I suggest you see it! It is the story of the two witches in the Wizard of Oz.

John's Birthday
John turned 27 today. We both went to work so we decided to celebrate with a nice dinner out. We went to Ron of Japan. It is a Japanese place where they cook in front of you. It was really good, but Benihan's is better. We were going to go to Benihana's but there aren't any in the city. For dessert I went to cheesecake factory and got our favorite slices of cheesecake and a slice of carrot cake b/c John has wanted some lately. Anyway, Happy Birthday to John!!

Date Night
John and I decided to have a date night last night. We went to dinner and a movie. We realized that we hadn't seen a movie in the theater in a year! The last movie we saw was Vantage Point. In Chicago there are no HUGE movie theaters like Tinseltown. There are a lot of theaters all spread out and each theater shows 6-9 movies. John wanted to see Gran Torino but it was showing really far from our condo. I wanted to see Marley and Me. It was showing on the Mag Mile so we went. It was so so so so good!!! I cried and I even saw a little tear out of John. We definetly recomend it!
